Custom Order Guidelines

At The Junkyard Pets, every piece is handmade and created specifically for you and your pet. This guide explains our custom ordering process and what you can expect from start to finish.
Ordering Your Portrait
Getting started is easy.
Choose the artwork style and size you'd like.
Upload one or more clear photos of your pet.
Add any personalization requests during checkout.
I'll review your order and begin creating your custom artwork.
If I have any questions before starting, I'll contact you using the email address provided with your order.
Choosing Photos
The better the photos, the better your portrait.
For the best results:
Upload multiple clear photos.
Include photos taken in natural lighting whenever possible.
Choose one photo that shows the pose you'd like your artwork to follow.
Additional photos help me accurately match your pet's colors, markings, and facial features.
If you'd like me to combine features from multiple photos, simply leave a note with your order or send me a message explaining which details you'd like included.
Artwork Style
Every portrait is created by hand using layered cardstock and premium vinyl.
Rather than simply copying a photograph, I focus on creating artwork that captures your pet's personality while remaining true to their appearance.
Because each piece is handmade, slight variations are part of what makes every artwork unique.
Photo Editing
To create the cleanest possible portrait, I'll automatically remove:
People
Leashes
Background distractions
Unwanted objects
unless you specifically request that they remain.
Additional customizations are available upon request, including:
Collars
Halo
Angel wings
Flowers
Favorite toy
Favorite blanket
Memorial wording
Paw prints
Other personalized additions

Memorial Portraits
Creating memorial artwork is one of the most meaningful parts of what I do.
Memorial portraits can include:
Pet's name
Important dates
Rainbow Bridge poem
Halo
Angel wings
Favorite toy
Favorite blanket
Decorative flowers
Paw print
Collar
Other meaningful details
Every memorial piece is designed with care and respect for the special bond you shared.
Background Options
Available backgrounds vary by artwork style and product.
Depending on the piece you choose, available options may include:
Colored cardstock
Metallic tin
Clear glass
No background

Progress Updates
One of my favorite parts of creating custom artwork is sharing the journey with you.
Throughout the process, I'll send progress photos so you can watch your artwork come to life.
This allows us to make adjustments before the artwork is completed.
Revisions
Every custom order includes:
One complimentary revision
A second revision may be available depending on the project
If I make a significant mistake, it will always be corrected before your artwork is completed.
Once final approval has been given or your order has shipped, additional changes may require a new order or additional fee.
Production Times
Current estimated production times are:
Digital Portraits
Approximately 3 business days
Layered Artwork
Approximately 5 business days before shipment
These times may vary during busy seasons or for especially detailed custom pieces.
Multiple Pets
Portrait sizes determine how many pets can comfortably fit within the design.
Small: 1 pet
Medium: Up to 2 pets
Large: Up to 4 pets
